Speaker Bios

Arthur D. Rhodes was named President and Chief Executive Officer of the Church of God Benefits Board, Inc. in Cleveland, Tennessee in February 1999. The Benefits Board manages a pension plan for ministers and church-related employees and oversees the investments of the Board, now totaling approximately $400 million. In addition, in 2010 Art also became the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Church Loan Fund, Inc., an organization that currently services 150 church loans with an outstanding balance over $42 million.

The son of a minister, Art was reared in the state of Mississippi and graduated from Millsaps College and the University of Mississippi School of Law. During his career, Art served as counsel for the Mississippi State Department of Public Welfare, and in private practice where he specialized in construction litigation. Prior to coming to the Board, Art served more than a decade as Chief of Staff, legal counsel, and as an advisor on legislative matters to United States Rep. Mike Parker (R – 4th,MS) in Washington, DC. Through the years, Art has maintained a keen interest in politics, having served as an election observer in the contested Florida presidential election in November 2000 and as a member of the RNC’s Legal Strike Force during the election cycles over the past two decades.

Art and his wife, Angie, make their home in Cleveland, TN. They have two children, Katelyn – a senior at Lee University, and Taylor – a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and now living in Denver where he works as a lobbyist for a national political organization.
